WEEDMAR – Sugarcane Herbicide (Dhanuka)

WEEDMAR by Dhanuka is a selective, systemic herbicide widely used in sugarcane cultivation for the effective control of broad-leaf weeds and sedges. It contains 2,4-D Amine Salt, which targets unwanted weeds while remaining safe for sugarcane crops.

Why It’s Used in Sugarcane

• Controls a wide range of broad-leaf weeds
• Highly effective against sedge weeds like Cyperus rotundus (“Motha” / “Nutgrass”)
• Prevents weeds from competing with cane for nutrients, moisture & sunlight

Mode of Action

• Absorbed through leaves and roots
• Moves systemically inside the weed plant
• Causes abnormal growth → wilting → complete die-off
• Safe for sugarcane when used at recommended dose

Recommended Dosage (Sugarcane)

• 300–500 ml per acre (based on weed density)
• Mix in 150–200 liters of water
• Apply when weeds are young & actively growing

Best Time of Application

• Post-emergence spray after weeds have emerged
• Typically applied at 30–45 days after planting (DAP)
